The Appendix APH-A: APHIS Supplemental Trade Guide is primarily designed for filers that report APHIS Message sets on behalf of Importers. The guide is essentially a “job aid” aimed at separating the operational data entry concepts from the technical aspects of the APHIS Message sets. APHIS developed the material during the “optional” reporting phase of the APHIS Message Set initiative due to positive feedback received regarding information communicated via the [APHIS] ACE.ITDS@aphis.usda.gov service account. Much of this information was generated as a result of questions or recommendations by trade to produce material explaining the APHIS Message Set in a less technical way. Recommendations from trade also encouraged APHIS to cross reference key pieces of the APHIS Message Set design. This included cross referencing Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code with record lines like PG01 (APHIS Programs) and PG10 (APHIS Commodity Category Types).Standard In Solutions
