Information about the goods being shipped and the consignee and consignors involved that is required by Customs for the importation or exportation of goods across national boundaries. In the United States this information is handled by government authorized portals and is outside of the PCIS. Electronic notices of cargo release are sent by Customs to the marine terminals and BCOs and may be entered into the PCIS.
