roadway characteristics
Detectable or measurable road characteristics such as friction coefficient and general surface conditions, road geometry, signs and indicators (e.g., speed limits, parking availability) and markings, etc. These characteristics are monitored or measured by ITS sensors and used to support advanced vehicle safety, parking, turning and lane change maneuvers and road maintenance capabilities.
